Music immersion in the heart of Castilla La Mancha

An amazing double album both ethnographic and social, which presents us a forgotten Spanish repertoire of Castile-La Mancha (in Spanish Castilla-La Mancha), region of Spain located south of Madrid. This place is typically "Spanish" with part of the Castilian heart, a very dry climate, which has favored depopulation especially at the time of the Civil War (from 1936). The musicians of Vigüela are mostly from the village of El Campio de Tajo, they use traditional instruments: castanets, tambourines, zambomba, (friction drum), triangles, bottle, and various kitchen utensils, and with a predominance of singing solo or in a group. This two CDs are exciting to discover and plunge us into a repertoire of fandangos, or unusual seguidillas interpreted in an authentic way.
