DUO GRANITE
LE JOUR D'APRÉS
Gérard Viel
the fusion of violin and accordion with two moving artists!
Sébastien Lagrange learnt the accordion from his father, Jo Lagrange, a hurdy-gurdy player, he is passionate about the warm, festive and friendly atmosphere. He met Didier Gris, multi-instrumentalist (violin, Irish bouzouki, mandolin...) fervent defender of traditional music, rock and song... They shared the road within emblematic groups of the Morvan: Blackwater and Matawa. In 2017 they founded Duo Granite around a repertoire of personal compositions, tinged with music from Scotland, Ireland, Canada and their Morvan. Last March they recorded at home "the day after", a nod to the famous confinement. The choice of the violin and accordion duo allows these two artists to express themselves without limits, without taboo and with energy. Each one lets his talent, his technicality, his sensitivity speak for themselves, nobody is a leader and their passion for music takes us on paths of traditional music revisited with subtlety. The violin merges with the accordion and their joy of playing together is apparent from the very first notes. They don't just play fast, always faster, but they know how to make the note sound at the right time and in the right tempo! This is an album to listen to, dance to and share with friends far from the confines of confinement....
