In the footsteps of the pilgrims of Santiago de Compostela
The 19th album of the emblematic Galician band Luar Na Lubre was released last June! and because of the health crisis it went unnoticed.
This double album, which pays tribute to the pilgrims on the Pilgrims' Way to Santiago de Compostela, is a cultural musical marvel that retraces the journey of the thousands of walkers who lived this adventure. Songs and instrumentals evoking the names of emblematic places that take the mind and soul on a journey: O Cebreiro, A Fonsagrada, Costa da Morte, Fisterra, Muxía, Santiago de Compostela. To be at the heart of the tireless travellers on a personal quest, the album Vieiras e Vieiros, is interspersed with the sounds of Galician nature that give a feeling of fullness. In fact, all 27 songs are the ideal soundtrack for pilgrims: it is festive to help walking, but it is also languorous to allow personal meditation. Charismatic leader Bieito Romero considers "Our creation is very personal, but it is closely linked to traditional music and, in particular, to Galician medieval poetry". Luar na Lubre's work brings together personal experiences, historical facts, legends and sounds related to the ancient Celtic path, such as the ravens of Ulloa or the seagulls and the sea of Fisterra. The songs on this album tell the stories of the pilgrims who arrived in Galicia, which the group wanted to collect at different times and in different ways, including the experiences of the most modern walkers. The second album is a compilation of songs by Luar Na Lubre that refer to the route, paths and roads to Santiago. The title of the album is a play on words that refers precisely to the stories and tales of pilgrims passionate about human, religious or personal research.
