Morand Cajun Band

Paradis Cajun

Gérard Viel

Tribute to the standards of Cajun music

Tireless, inescapable, passionate and warm the accordionist Roger Morand has just realized with his "band" Morand Cajun Band a fourth album not to put in all ears! unless you want to move, dance, have a good time with friends and rediscover the highest standards of Cajun music. For this new cake the happy team has freed the shackles and misconceptions! they dropped Cajun friends: Patrick Plouchart (violin and vocals), Jean Marie Ferrat (guitar, bass and choirs), Michel Droz (percussion) and our friend Roger with his melodeon and singing. This "sounds" as rarely heard for musicians in France, it is both "roots" but Cajun, 100% zydeco, Creole Cajun, and sometimes swayed with a passage in Colombia! Why Not .. and when Roger Morand composes you have the feeling to hear a Cajun standard! This artist is so impregnated with the musical, social and cultural culture of Louisiana that he thinks and dreams "in cajun" ....... For the great hits of the repertoire you will not be disappointed "Paradis des musiciens" by the great Belton Richard, "Born on the Bayou" by John Forgety, "Lucille" by the immense Clifton Chenier, without forgetting: Mrs. Bosso, Dear Toutoute, To work is too hard ...... They are happy to take again the famous "Honky Tonk Women" Rolling Stones, but in the style of the Morand Cajun Band. In this album, he expresses a generosity and warmth close to the social reality of the Cajun people, as well as a joy of these four lads to play and sing together to give happiness to the listener and the many dancers. Cherry on the "Jambalaya" sound and mixing are particularly successful, the voices are warm, and we find perfectly the acoustic sound of the basic instruments of Cajun music: melodeon, violin. In conclusion, whether or not you are passionate about Cajun music, get this CD and you will travel to the heart of Bayous and the soul of the Cajun people
