Sébastien Lagrange and Friends
Morvan Massif Live
Gérard Viel
The Accordion Festival of Luzy (Nièvre) dedicated a "carte blanche" to Sébastien LAGRANGE on August 11, 2017. Discover the recording of this concert with French, Irish and Scottish musicians: accordion, hurdy-gurdy, guitar, violin, bagpipe and piano. A dynamic album, warm and with a lot of emotion
From the first notes, we are attracted by the dexterity and the number of notes that Sébastien draws from his accordion. It sounds Quebec, Ireland, Cajun, Scotland! Sébastien is one of the essential actors of the trad music in Morvan: The Trênes Logs, Morvange, The Ball, and the mythical Blackwater group. In recent years he has created the "Morvan Massif" which is the basis of this album recorded in concert at the Accordion Festival of Luzy last August. For this occasion he is accompanied by a palette of musicians of great talent: D. Gris (violin), R. Martin (guitar), C.Vallely (piano), G. Rutkowski (uilleann pipes and bagpipes of the Center), G .Desserprit ((bagpipes of the Center), F. Huguenin (old wheel). What touched me the most is his sensitivity that he sends with his bellows. Listen "My father lives in the stars", a tribute to his father who taught him the accordion (Jo Lagrange, old player), or the waltz suite "waltz La Rochette, waltz for my lady, waltz for Lucie, and the magnificent momentum of tenderness "For my brother Jeff" All the tracks of this CD are to listen in loop, it is at the same time joyful, dynamic and borrowed of a sensibility with flower of skin which leaves nobody indifferent. the strength and the energy of the conditions of concerts, the sound recording is remarkable. An album that should not be left p asser, for all lovers of live music and strong emotions.
