Trio in Uno

Ipê

François Saddi

After a first album (Lilas, 2015), these 3 young musicians who devote their energy to the contemporary Brazilian music come back to us with a superb record that swings nicely, warmly and deeply moving.

The trio consists of Giulia Tamanini on soprano saxophone, Pablo Schinke on cello and José Ferreira on 7-string guitar. They are joined for a few tracks by drummer James Müller, cellist Vincent Segal and a small set of strings composed of Akel Fares Akel and Walber Matos (violins), Kalie Akel (viola, Wagner matos (cello) and Agustin Orcha ( bass).
Living in France, the 3 friends born in Brazil (P. Schinke and J. Ferreira) and in Italy (G. Tamanini) revisit in this beautiful opus 10 pieces of Brazilian composers mostly contemporary: Sergio Assad, Hamilton de Holanda , Heitor Villa Lobos, Hermeto Pascoal, Guinga, Egberto Gismonti for 2 titles and Marco Pereira for 3. Their arrangements are of great finesse, perfectly legible and in turn highlighting this or that instrument of the trio. The real virtuosity of each is always at the service of an infallible musicality.
To conclude, these few words of the composer Marco Pereira about his 3 pieces appearing in the CD: "The interpretation of these is very beautiful, bringing them to a degree of excellence and surprising perfection. incredible sonic finesse with the most dignified and authentic colors of a rich and diverse Brazil.'
