WÖR already have two albums devoted to the 18th century repertoire and it was possible to imagine that they were going to attempt a new musical adventure for their third album. But WÖR's joyful team of musicians is asserting its talent and passion for the repertoire of the Flemish carillonneurs of that period.  According to WÖR, "The 'carillonneurs' were professional musicians who collected and adapted existing melodies and played them on the carillon for all kinds of events and social and cultural occasions that punctuated life in those days. These gigantic music boxes played tunes on the bells to indicate the passage of time, several times an hour, day and night. As the sound of this immense musical instrument could be heard for miles around, the carillonneurs were in a way the ancestors of DJs! ». Pari 100% succeeds in revisiting this ancient music without ever falling into ease. Our Flemish friends send us breathtaking energy, they made me want to relive far away from this social isolation that has been blocking us for a year.  Bagpipes, accordion, violin, saxophone and guitar force us to move forward, to stay on our feet, to watch the future unfold and no longer let ourselves be locked up in front of our screens! In spite of the so-called ancient music, the madness, sensuality and energy of WÖR's arrangements are 100% contemporary music, without machines, without loops. Everything is played with the heart and the desire to share and give happiness to the audience. In the 1500s, the carillon (a set of tuned bronze bells suspended in a large tower) functioned as a modern radio station broadcasting the hits of the time. Today there is WÖR with its music without borders, without barriers, it is not jazz, folk, rock, pop, nor contemporary music, it is the music of the Flemish band WÖR, which knows how to make 18th century music sound like no one has done before them.
